2021 Acura ILX | Premium Sport Compact Sedan

The 2021 Acura ILX is a subcompact luxury sedan that offers a smooth ride along with a sporty and fresh exterior design.

The ILX’s interior cabin offers a nice amount of space for the front passengers. Standard equipment includes a sunroof, heated seats with power adjustments, and dual-zone climate control. The trunk has 12.4 cubic feet of cargo space which can be expanded by folding down the rear seats.

A 5-inch audio display is standard along with a six-speaker audio system, Bluetooth capability, keyless entry, and ambient interior lighting. Optional features include a dual-screen infotainment system with a 7-inch touch screen and an 8-inch display, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a seven-speaker premium stereo, satellite radio, and HD Radio.

Standard driver assistance features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and a rearview camera. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and rear parking sensors are optional.

A makeover in 2019 reworked the ILX’s front end from the A-pillars forward. The 2021 ILX has the now-familiar Diamond Pentagon grille, the last member of the Acura family to receive this treatment.

The rear also had some tweaks, with the license plate holder moving from the center down to the bumper, giving a lower, sportier impression.

The A-Spec models have a spicier feel with exclusive 18-inch wheels, dark chrome grille, gloss-black rear spoiler, and darkened exterior elements like the headlights and taillights.

The Acura ILX has a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine connected to an 8-speed twin-clutch automatic transmission. Paddle shifters mounted beneath the steering wheel are standard, allowing the driver to change gears whenever the mood arises. The ILX earns fuel economy ratings of 24 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway, which are competitive to non-all-wheel-drive vehicles in this segment.
